The Skills Bootcamps for Londoners programme will bring Londoners closer to good jobs. It will help learners to progress in work by giving them access to in-demand skills training and a guaranteed interview for a more sustainable, higher-skilled job and higher wages over time. The programme also helps employers to fill specific skills shortage vacancies, increasing productivity within their organisations.

The Mayor of London and the Department for Education (DfE) have invested £30 million to deliver Wave 6 of the Skills Bootcamps for Londoners programme which will support up to 11,000 Londoners to access higher level skills training. It will help meet nationally identified skills needs set by DfE and the city’s local priority economic sectors set by the Mayor of London including digital, green, creative, and health and social care.

The programme ensures participating employers commit to interviewing candidates trained for their skills shortage vacancies. Skills Bootcamps will run for up to 16 weeks and will focus on training at Levels 2 – 5. Skills Bootcamps are open to Londoners aged 19 or over and are a mix of online and in person delivery, or in person only. Additionally, Skills Bootcamps for Londoners is addressing underrepresentation across key sectors and ensuring businesses can benefit from talent across the breadth of London’s diverse communities, such as Londoners from ethnic minority groups, disabled people, women, and single parents.
